Color Forecasting Report for Vivienne Westwood 2010 A/W Collection

Through these four months to study Vivienne Westwood, I think Vivienne Westwood will use a lot of cool colors that black, blue, grey, white and brown. Added some warm colors that orange, purple and red to create rich , trendy and charming style of men and women. Why will I make this forecast? It is because I found that these colors in many collections are used. Moreover, I found that blue is Vivienne Westwood favourite color, she uses BLUE applied on clothes in many years' collection.

Also, I think Vivienne Westwood will use only one color on the clothes since I found that in the early years' collection.

This is the color family that I forcast in Autumn & Winter 2010 which Vivienne Westwood will apply them on the clothes.

And I find that Vivienne Westwood will apply some color schemes on the clothes, for example, Complementary color scheme ( most opposite color is blue and black), Mono-chromatic, Achromatic ( maybe she will add some bright colors to create the special feeling), Analogous color scheme and Analogic and Compliemtary color scheme. Therefore, I find that Vivienne Westwood loves using many color schemes on one outfit. Moreover, Vivienne Westwood don't use one color scheme only that applied on the outfits, she may add another color scheme mixed together to create charming and stylish style.

According to my studied, I make this forecast that Vivienne Westwood will use them in Autumn & Winter of 2010.

First of all, according to the information of my project, I found that she applied many color schemes on each collection, there are at least three color schemes in each collection. Most of the color schemes are Achromatic, Complementary color scheme, Mono-chromatic and Analogic mix Compliemtary color scheme. I think it is her style, she wants to mix and match many color schemes on the outfit to create rich and special feeling to us.

Second, according to the recent years' collection, she changed her design a lot and the colors used compare with the early years. In the past, she liked using many different colors mix together, they were rich and bold. I think it is because her ex-husband. Since Vivienne Westwood was not a real designer at that time, she just a teacher. She didn't have much idea to design the clothes, she asked her ex-husband's idea and he told her to follow the recent trend. At that time, Vivienne Westwood's design was followed the trend to represent the message of the society, and she likes history, so her early collections more related to history. So on that time, she had "Let it rock", " Too fast to live, too young to die", " SEX", " PIRATE", " SAVAGE" and so on. But now, she changes her mind and style, she concerns more about the environment issue and society. For example, fall 2009 Ready to wear collection that she wants to arouse our awareness of the environment issue in her collection "+5". So I think she will design with nature color to represent back to the land and eco-awareness message.

Beside, I also think Vivienne Westwood will use bold color which is so bright, exaggerate wild style on the collection since her special personality and economy downturn, she may design some special outfits in bold color with high value, for example, shocking blue, shocking green, shocking yellow, shocking pink and so on. These outfits are different from I mentioned before. I think it is because she wants to give people a special and surprised feeling. Make them have "Wow, I want to have it ", may will make them to have more energy and confidence to fight against the Global Economy Tsunami. Since Vivienne Westwood said before, "people will have a much more interesting and better life if they wear impressive clothes."

This is my forecast for Autumn & Winter in 2010 of Vivienne Westwood. Analyzing Vivienne Westwood is a difficult task but it is worth to do. Because Vivienne Westwood is a special women compare with other designers that she has special idea, design and style, applies many color schemes on the outfits. However, I think that analyze Vivienne Westwood is a challenging event. I love Vivienne Westwood, also this subject that enriches my life!!!

I found that ask people to take a photo is a very difficult job since they don't want to show themselves or someone just said that " I don't like it." So sad when they rejected me, but I kept to ask people to take it. Some peole can show their trousers or T-shirt to me for taking photo, some of them are relly beautiful.

Wedding gown of Vivienne Westwood

( In Sex & the City, Sarah Jessica Parker wearing Vivienne Westwood wedding gown )\

After I studied to analyse the Vivienne Westwood, I found that she likes to apply the ladies style into men's style. Therefore, in July 1990, she and PittiUomo held a fashion show to display the men's style collection in Florence.

Vivienne Westwood's style is very different from other designers. Like the wedding gown, other designers will design it in white or ivory, but Vivienne Westwood is not only used white or ivory, but also in bright colors. For her 1993-1994 Anglomania series in the autumn and winter clothing, she designed a multi-colored wedding dress tartan skirt, but also with the same rainbow petticoat.
Like this one.

According to my groupmate's project, there is some information about Vivienne Westwood Fall 2009 Ready to wear. She analysed that Vivienne Westwood wants to arouse our awareness about the envrionment issue in her collection "+5°," the meaning of "+5°" is that 5 degrees are counted to rise as CO2 levels skyrocket.

Also, Vivienne Westwood spread the message onto the T-shirtColour scheme: Mono-chromatic as well as split complmentary with high value.

This is the color family of the collection. As we can see, Vivienne Westwood loves to use cool colors which blue, brown, black and grey. Also she has used warm colors that orange and red.

S/S 2009 Ready to Wear of Vivienne Westwood

According to my groupmate's project, there are some information about Vivienne Westwood S/S 2009 Ready to Wear.
The theme is 'Do it yourself' Vivienne do this show because she was inspired by the rainforest. she wants to save the rainforest and encourage us not to consume, that is "less consume, but do it yourself".
The color schemes of the collection which are mono-chromatic (green, yellow green and yellow) and complementary(red+green and violet+yellow green)
This is the color family of the collection. I found that Vivienne Westwood used many light tone colors to create the collection. I think it is because the season--spring and summer, these colors gave us fresh and comfortable feeling.
